Composer/arranger and Conductor MARCIN MAZUR

Marcin Lukasz Mazur, born 1963 to a family of musicians, studied choir conducting and musical pedagogy at the Frédéric Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, graduating with distinction in 1988. Since 1984 he has participated in the International Choir Academy Krems (Austria) and other music courses and seminars with Steen Lindholm, Erwin List, Erwin Ortner, Robert Sund, Fritz ter Wey and others. He lives in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, near Warsaw.

From 1985-96 he worked as a choral conductor in the Lutnia Singing Society in Warsaw, conducting the girls’ choir (1986-90) and mixed choir (1990-96). Both of them have become winners of various musical prizes and have presented première performances of modern choral music. He has also conducted other choirs and orchestras such as rimary Music School in Warsaw, the Choir of the Economics High School in Warsaw and the Corelli Baroque Orchestra in Bielsko-Biala. From 1998 to 2000 he was the Director of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Choir in Las Palmas (Spain).

In 2000 he formed the internationally award-winning Grodzisk Children’s Choir (now re-named the Grodzisk Bogorya Choir) for whom he arranged Mozart's Coronation Mass for treble voices, an arrangement published by Cantus Quercus Press.

Besides choral conducting he works as a music teacher, since 1995 in the German College in Warsaw. In 1991, with Wlodzimierz Soltysik, he formed Triangiel Music Publishing. which is now one of the most important publishing houses in Poland for Polish choral music.
