Composer and Conductor BENEDIKT BURGHARDT

Born in 1960 in Essen, Burghardt studied music there from 1977 to 1986. Then he studied concert guitar with H. Gräf at the Folkwang Academy in Buenos Aires, Argentina; also music theory and composition with G. Graetzer, conducting with A. Russo, at the J.j.Castro Conservatory.

Participant in IGNM events with I. Malek, R. Febel, P. Mefano, H. Lachenmann, M. Etkin at the Stuttgart School of Music.

Since 1987, active in Vienna as a music teacher, music academy teacher, director, seminar leader and docent, composer.

Involvement with H. Kayser's "Questions on Harmony" led to further studies with the faculty at the Vienna Music Academy (1995-97).

His compositions are in various genres; frequently in transition from "free" compositions to those which are conceived for amateur ensembles or for children.

Seit 1987 in Wien, tätig als Musiklehrer, Musikschullehrer, Dirigent, Seminarleiter und Dozent, Komponist.

Beschäftigung mit Fragen der Harmonik (H. Kayser), die zu einer Fortbildung in diesem Fachberiech an der Musikhochschule Wien (1995-97) führte.

Kompositionen in verschiedenen Bereichen; immer wieder im Wechsel zwischen 'freien' Kompositionen und solchen, die für Laienensembles oder für Kinder konzipiert sind.
